Yoga is different. Yoga brings together mind, body and breathing. Yes, it’s good for you physically, like many other forms of exercise, but you can take yoga further – towards calming the mind, releasing stress and tension and finding out about yourself.
Yoga is not a quick fix, however. If you practise yoga, you will still have to face the challenges of modern life, and all the complexities and imperfections of being human. What you will discover, if you put aside a little time each day just for you (for breathing awareness, yoga postures, and sitting quietly), is a space inside where there is peace, stillness, and a feeling of being connected. What’s more, your body will thank you for releasing accumulated tension and mobilizing muscles and joints to achieve a sense of wellbeing.
From 3rd March 2015 the venue for yoga has changed. I am running one 75 minute class for mixed ability students at the Swansea Vale Resource Centre, Ffordd Tregof, Swansea Vale SA7 0AL. Beginners are always welcome. The cost of the classes is £5. I also run a beginners’ class on Wednesday morning at the FOYD building, 300 Carmarthen Road, Cwmbwrla, Swansea, SA5 8NJ between 10 and 11.30 a.m.
